PKU and the Palace Museum Joint Lectures

In 2021, the Center broadened its collaboration partners to include cultural organizations. The Center’s jointly organized online lectures with the Palace Museum (故宫) in China gave audiences the chance to learn about the Palace Museum’s evolution and historical details through authentic archives and documents, as well as unique calligraphy works and paintings.

The lectures pictured the Forbidden City from the perspectives of city planning, architectural design and interior decoration, revealing its historical, cultural and artistic values, based on multiple materials, such as archaeological excavations, historical documents and artifacts, and surviving architectural examples.
